Reunion Information Updated

The Rose Tree Media Alumni Association and Rose Tree Media School District are pleased to announce a strategic partnership to provide a means for Alumni to become more active in their support of the students, the school community and Alumni events.

The Rose Tree Media Alumni Association was formed in 1981.  The Association includes all the Media High School Alumni as reflected in the Association's logo of a lion and mustang.  The incorporators were Phil Damiani, John Cunningham, Bonnie D'Ignazio, Linda Arters, Guy Messick and Don and Penny Flounders.  The Association was active for several years, providing college tuition grants to graduating seniors, holding Alumni recognition dinners and inducting deserving Alumni in the Hall of Fame.  While other Alumni participated in the Association, the Association did not have enough participation to sustain itself and the Association became inactive over time.  Superintendent Denise Kerr recently expressed an interest in re-activating the Alumni Association and had initial discussions with Association board member Sue Mescanti.  Sue added Phil Damiani and Guy Messick to the group.

The Association has worked with Meg Barney, Ed. D. of the District to develop the details of the strategic partnership.  Sue Mescanti and Bill Tyson have volunteered on behalf of the Association to work with the District liaison volunteers, John Lohn and Nancy Peters, to implement the new relationship.

It is envisioned that the Association will provide funds for scholarships, supplemental programs to enrich the student experiences, school sponsored community events, Alumni social events and displays of memorabilia.  It is also envisioned that the Association will help coordinate the Alumni's personal involvement in activities such as volunteer speakers and student mentors.  The Association will develop a website to communicate information and solicit feedback and to be a hub to help classes organize reunions.

All participants are excited about the positive potential of this newly forged relationship for the RTM students, schools, Alumni and the community.  Volunteers are being solicited to participate in the Association at all levels and in all capacities.  If you have an interest to participate in any way, please contact one of the following persons.
